Jefferson Stark is pissed. As the world’s only authentic vampire, he’s had a belly full of bland Barbie-and-Ken blood-suckers and those silly Hollywood monsters with fangs and capes. Real vampires don’t drink blood, turn into bats, or burn in the sunlight. They just read good books, download videos, and sip tea brewed from the ashes of a human heart. Jefferson looks like road kill and smells like a dirty diaper, so he doesn’t get out much. Now, for the first time in 200 years, he’s going to be proactive. He’s going to eliminate everyone who writes romantic vampire fiction. It will be his contribution to American literature, a little “thank you” gift from the undead to you – the soon-to-die.

Like the main character in this book, I am not a vampire fan nor do I like senseless violence in "entertainment". I am somewhat familiar with the authors works of a historical nature. You can be pretty sure that the historical content is accurate, or at least founded on some aspect of real history. I was curious to see what a historical writer could do with a work of fiction and was pleasantly surprised. Overall I found this book entertaining, very imaginative, hilarious in parts and I think perhaps it was fun to write. The main character is forcefully engaging, although not a traditional hero figure. I especially liked the very last segment of this story. Not to give anything away, but while we are plodding along toward what seems like a sad and inevitable disaster, something unexpected occurs. That is what made this story for me. I quite enjoyed the final twist. Kind of like a tart slice of lime plopped into the glass of seltzer at the last minute.

Kill All the Vampire Writers A Genre Avengers Novella eBook Robyn Dennison Reviews

this main character is very interesting. I loved the historic fiction part. and I did come to sympathize with the narrator. I learned about all kinds of things NH history, privateering, baltimore, and more. give it a try. it really is a fun, quick read.
Catch a read of this! It kept my attention right out of the box and all the way through. Lots going on in this guys head! Can't wait for the next one. Bring on the age of Novellas!!
This was a fun read. Dennison cranked out this genre take-off with obvious glee and gave me a number of laugh-out-loud moments with crazy twists and jaunty style. The Amercican history lesson that is woven through the tale, generous and well told, proved an added, and unexpected, bonus. Looking forward to the next offering in this hopefully to-be-continued series.
'Kill All The Vampire Writers' is not only witty and masterfully written, but breathes new life into the genre. It happens to be the first vampire novel in a long time that doesn't suck - and if you want to know what that really means, you'll have to read the book!
It's an extremely original work with fine writing, a great plot, history, suspense and some sadness. Kill All the Vampire Writers moves along briskly with a narrator who is in the perfect position to fill us in on some of the most interesting historical events. I recommend it highly. This book has a lot of heart. Well done!
Lofty ambitions aside, that is the deconstruction of pop fiction, this book carries nicely on it's own merits. It bends over backwards to break all the cliches in a refreshing way, hoping to redefine the iconic lore of the vampire... taking away, yes, a bit of romance, but ultimately installing in its place a new kind of charm, the kind of curmudgeon charm you might find in a Vonnegut character or similar ilk.

The narrative lays on a strong and rich understanding of New England history which often times is a bit more compelling than the story's present tense. Though weighing one against the other is moot, given that the over all juxtaposition makes for a funny read with a lot of heart.

I look forward to more of this series in the future!
